Day 3, June 23, 2005

The third day covered 228 km and took us around the Ring of Kerry, with stops such as Valentia Island and Killarney National Park. The tour led us through Glenbeigh, Waterville, Letterfinish, Ladies View, and Killarney, among other places.

We reached Valentia Island by ferry. The first underwater telegraph line to the USA was laid from this small island. From there, we continued across the bridge to Portmagee. Our route then took us over steep stretches via Baile an Sceilg to Waterville, where we fortified ourselves at the " Lobster " restaurant.

Our next leg of the journey took us via Kenmare, then up a winding road to Molls Gap and on to Ladies View, where we had an incredible view of the Lakes of Killarney. We also met a German tour group there who immediately offered us hot food. That's something we've never experienced on our tours in Germany…

Originally, we wanted to make another stop at Muckross Park near Killarney, but we changed our minds during the tour.

After such a wonderful and informative tour, packed with so many impressions, it's very difficult to remember and describe everything. A voice recorder, recording continuously, would be ideal. Therefore, this description isn't too detailed; it's meant to inspire you to experience this beautiful country for yourself and get to know the truly lovely Irish people.
